Chapter One: The Day My World Ended
The entire city was engulfed in flames. Everything was crumbling to ash, and blown away in a cold breeze. There was nothing more to see; however, the screams of men, women and children could be heard for miles. Each scream was different, yet they were all somehow the same. I could only imagine the agony they must be in, being burned or buried alive in the rubble of their own homes. The sound of the screams was maddening, but I had to push on. I had to keep moving, I refused to give up. Getting her to safety was the only thing on my mind, the only thing keeping me going.
